Our members at ASP perform security-related functions at various airport entrances at Toronto’s Pearson International Airport and Billy Bishop Airport - Toronto Island.
CAW Local 2002 is privileged and honored to welcome our most recent members to the Local. Local 2002 is home to approximately 10,000 members across Canada, including GTAA, Air Canada, Air Canada Jazz, Handlex, Webb, Ornge, Impark, American Eagle, United Airlines, ATS and Worldwide in Toronto alone.
Leslie Dias, President Local 2002 and Ashley Watkins, Executive Assistant will be working closely with the elected Vice Chairpersons and Health & Safety representatives. All of the recently elected Union officers will meet on Friday, February 4 at the Local 2002 office to discuss such issues as structure, processes, resources, training, grievances and more.
Training and education for the representatives will be one of the priorities Rita Reid, Central Region Vice President will be focusing on with this bargaining unit.
Your Union Representatives and Local 2002 will be assisted by CAW National Staff Representative, Joel Fournier. Joel has a number of years negotiating various collective agreements in a multiple industries.
In the not too distant future, we will be coordinating a membership meeting at both Pearson International and Billy Bishop Airports.
We have heard from a number of you with regards to the many issues that has been brought to our attention. We will work as diligently as possible during this transitional period. We look forward to meeting as many members as possible over the next few weeks.
