Negotiating a fair agreement at ASP is our top priority

July 22, 2016 at 3:22 PM

Your elected bargaining committee met with the employer on July 11, 12 and 19 to continue negotiations.

The bargaining mandate that was presented to the company reflects the needs and priorities of our membership as determined through surveys and proposal meetings.  The committee dealt with the majority of the non-monetary proposals and subsequently opened discussions on monetary items.

As the bargaining process unfolds, your committee will continue to keep members updated on developments by e-news and also on our local 2002 website. However, please remember that in order to protect the integrity of negotiations, the committee cannot discuss specific details while in collective bargaining. Once we have a proposed collective agreement to share with you it will be clarified at ratification meetings.

If you would like to learn more about the bargaining process, our local has an excellent booklet available on our website and through your bargaining representatives entitled Workplace Power.

Future negotiating dates have not yet been confirmed. We ask that you continue to support your bargaining committee by remaining patient as we work through this process of negotiations.

Negotiating a fair collective agreement for our members is our top priority.

In solidarity,

Your ASP Bargaining Committee:
