Unifor Local 2002 is pleased to announce that the tentative agreement reached with Air Canada’s Flight Operations group has been ratified by 96%. The union represents approximately 55 members in Quebec and Ontario who are responsible for numerous job functions such as monitoring daily and future Pilot flight crew requirements, communicating with Pilot flight crews, liaising with other operational offices concerning scheduling activity and notifying Pilot crew members.

The negotiated benefits of the 5-year collective agreement include lump sum payments in the first and second year. Members will also receive a percentage wage increases in the third, fourth and fifth year of the agreement. Midnight premiums have been introduced into the contract as well as overtime premiums for Christmas and New Years’ Day. Improvements to the health benefit coverage, language for the overtime process and pay have also been agreed upon by the parties.

"I would to thank the Bargaining Committee for their steadfast commitment to the bargaining process," said Cheryl Robinson, Unifor 2002 President. "The Air Canada membership should also be commended for their support and patience throughout talks. Their solidarity was instrumental in achieving the gains obtained at the [bargaining] table which will give the membership stability in their home bases for the next five years."

Unifor would like to thank all of the members who took the time to attend the meetings over the last two days and ratify this new collective agreement.
