Unifor Local 2002 is pleased to announce that it has ratified a new collective agreement with Canadian North representing over 200 Customer Service Agents working from Edmonton to Iqaluit and as far north as Inuvik and Igloolik.

The union was able to make significant language improvements to this agreement that will clearly spell out the working terms and conditions as well as an improved grievance process including a mediation process. The members will also receive a 0.6% wage increase in Year 1 of the agreement retroactive to January 1, 2016. A minimum of 1% wage increase in each of years 2 and 3 of the agreement and a ‘me too’ clause that stipulates that if any other unionized employee group receives more, our members will see the same increases.

"Our members deserve to be recognized for their hard work and dedication to this company," said Cheryl Robinson, President of Unifor Local 2002. "Over the past two years, these members have helped Canadian North turn itself around in light of the economic challenges that it has faced. Due to members' efforts, this company will continue to service communities in the Northwest Territories, Nunavut and southern gateways."

Unifor would like to thank all of the members who took the time over the past three weeks from coast to coast to coast to attend the ratification meetings and vote.
