Unifor is pleased to announce that today members at EVAS Air Charters have ratified their first collective bargaining agreement by 72 per cent. These members are Pilots based out of Gander, Newfoundland and Halifax, Nova Scotia who are now proud members of Canada's largest private sector union – Unifor.

"I am extremely pleased with the strong vote of support for your bargaining committee and the provisions obtained in this first collective agreement," said Unifor Local 2002 president Cheryl Robinson. "Unifor is Canada’s largest private sector union, and we look forward to serving the members at EVAS Air Charters."

The three-year agreement is effective immediately and expires February 5, 2019. Some of the improvements the EVAS members will enjoy are union recognition, wage increases, defined processes and procedures, minimum guaranteed of days off, extra vacation time, personal days, recall, etc.

We would like to thank the Bargaining Committee for their hard work, knowledge and insight as we worked through the numerous issues during the many months to form this first agreement.

Unifor represents approximately fifty pilots at EVAS (Exploits Valley Air Service) Air Charters which has been operating as a tier III Express Carrier for Air Canada since 2004. The company operates scheduled flights throughout Newfoundland and Labrador utilizing a Beechcraft 1900D, 18 passenger aircraft.
