American Eagle bargaining opens

American Eagle bargaining opens

July 14, 2011 at 5:17 PM

At the opening of bargaining in Toronto on July 11, 2011, the American Eagle bargaining committee presented its non-monetary proposals to the company. The current one year agreement expired on March 18, 2011.

As a result of proposal meetings and membership surveys, the bargaining committee determined that the key issues in this round of bargaining were:  wages, medical benefits, job descriptions ( to clarify work responsibilities and eliminate grievances), clear overtime language, job security (to eliminate scope violations when supervisors perform ramp functions and other membership duties).

The two parties have agreed to meet Aug 11, 12 22 23 and Sep 21 and 22.  Other bargaining dates will be established as needed in order to reach a tentative agreement that benefits and makes progress for our members.

We will continue to keep you informed.
