Envoy Air bargaining update

Envoy Air bargaining update

June 20, 2014 at 10:37 AM
Your Envoy Air (formerly American Eagle) bargaining committee and the employer commenced bargaining on May 20 – 21, 2014.  Talks progressed and the majority of the union's non-monetary proposals were resolved.

Further negotiations were scheduled for June 18 – 19, when the parties would begin to review monetary proposals.

Bargaining reconvened on June 18, 2014.  Unfortunately the company was unable to determine whether Envoy Air Inc. or American Airlines had the authority to deal with and sign off monetary issues at the bargaining table. The union presented a detailed proposal to the company regarding wages but had to cancel bargaining scheduled for the following day.

Until Envoy / American Airlines have determined which organization will have the authority to make financial decisions no additional dates for bargaining will be scheduled. The bargaining committee will keep the membership informed as more information becomes available.

Unifor represents 92 members at Envoy Air Inc. (formerly American Eagle Airlines) who are responsible for operations and ground handling at Pearson International Airport in Toronto. The collective agreement expired on March 17, 2014.
