In a precarious industry, Envoy Air shows the membership at District 341 their value

Last week, the Union and the Company met to discuss the work moved to American Airlines effective November 5, 2015. The outcome of these talks could have been considerably different for the 82 ground handlers at Unifor Local 2002 District 341.

The company announced that six flights per day will be moved to American Airlines. In a memo to the membership, the company expressed confidence that the work would be coming back to our members.

In the meantime, no layoffs have been announced. Instead, the company is taking the stance that our members are important to its success and is looking for other ways to risk manage during these uncertain times. Natural attrition, voluntary layoffs and leaves of absence are a few of the many options they are looking at.

We expect that the company will introduce a new schedule for our members. The result of which will be a rebid prior to the end of the year. The union will work with the employer to ensure we develop the best shifts possible for our membership.

We will continue to keep you updated as events unfold. Thank you for your continued support.
