First Air members ratify tentative agreement

Unifor Local 2002 is pleased to announce that the membership of First Air have ratified their tentative agreement by 70 per cent. The four year agreement which makes positive gains will be in effect until May 2020.
 
Some of the highlights in this contract include:
 
  • Wage percentage increase in each of the four years
  • Lump sums for co-ordinators
  • Increase in bereavement days
  • Increase in shoe and boot allowance
  • Pay for storm days
 
Language enhancements throughout the agreement
  • Clarification vacancies awards and transferring
  • Human rights
  • Training scheduling
 
 
“Our members at First Air are dedicated to their customers and helped to bring their employer out of a very serious financial crisis a few years ago,” says Local 2002 President Cheryl Robinson. “The bargaining committee are to be commended for bringing the membership an agreement that recognizes their contributions to the company.”
 
Unifor represents approximately 375 members in Ottawa, the far north, Yellowknife and Iqaluit who are employed as customer service and station attendants at airports, reservations and cargo.
