Unifor Local 2002 is pleased to announce that the tentative agreement with First Air has been successfully ratified by its members.

The new two-year collective bargaining agreement will provide greater stability for the company as it strives to maintain its strong relationship with its communities and improve relations with employees.

Highlights of the agreement include:

  • improved seniority and layoff/recall language that will treat all members equally

  • increase in safety boot allowance for attendants and ticket agents

  • new language negotiated for mutual exchanges in status for full-time and part-time employees

  • language clarification surrounding part time workers

"I am proud of our members who ratified this new agreement," said Unifor President Cheryl Robinson. "Your support allowed the bargaining committee to focus on achieving the best possible collective bargaining agreement."

Unifor Local 2002 represents more than 350 First Air members who are employed as customer service agents and station agents in the Western and Eastern Artic, Ottawa, Winnipeg and Edmonton. First Air performs scheduled and chartered services and connects passengers and cargo to more of the Arctic than any other airline.

In solidarity,

Your First Air Bargaining committee,
