On Wednesday, September 13 Unifor formally opened bargaining with Flair Airlines. This was a preliminary bargaining session where the parties exchanged proposals.
Unifor Bargaining Committee Representatives Sterling Dunne, Mark Pavlakovich, Ashley Watkins and Andrea MacBride met with Flair Airlines Captain Bill Hardy, Vice President of Operations and Laura Burchinshaw, Human Resources Manager.
During the course of the three days (September 13-15) the parties discussed a number of non-monetary items. Discussions were both positive and productive. The parties were able to establish the groundwork to build upon in order to ensure members’ issues and concerns are advanced at the bargaining table.
Both the company and union have much work ahead as they prepare for the next round of agreed to dates. We will meet in Kelowna on October 31 and November 1 and 2 and again on November 21, 22 and 23. Additionally, the parties are working to try and firm up December 5, 6, 7 dates.
The bargaining committee has spent a considerable amount of time preparing for bargaining and is eager to negotiate a fair agreement for the members.

Flair Airlines Ltd. is a privately owned Canadian charter airline based in Kelowna, British Columbia. Members are employed as pilots supplying scheduled service, large aircraft contracts and ad hoc charter services.
