Flair Airlines: Collective Bargaining Update

Flair Airlines: Collective Bargaining Update

April 27, 2018 at 10:00 AM

As a follow-up to the February 16th bulletin, Unifor has filed for conciliation to the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Services (FMCS). On March 1st, Peter Simpson, Director General of FMCS appointed Kathy Peters, as Conciliation Officer.

Your Flair Bargaining Committee recently met with the conciliator and the company on the following dates: April 18, 19 and 20, where we signed and agreed on a few more clauses that will be incorporated into the tentative agreement.  We did settle in principle on a number of other clauses that we hope to have finalized when we reconvene bargaining on the following dates: April 30 to May 4.

The Bargaining Committee made it crystal clear to the company on April 20, should there be  NO  tentative agreement reached on May 4, Unifor will meet with the membership to discuss other options available to them under the Canada labour code.

Stay in the Know
This is a very challenging set of negotiations and solidarity is incredibly important if we are going reach a fair and equitable settlement for you our members. Your Bargaining Committee understands the needs and desires of the membership and remains hopeful that a negotiated settlement can be reached.

We will ensure to keep you informed of any updates as they are made available. Our fight is your fight, and we will continue to fight for equality as we build a stronger more relevant Union.
