GTAA District 333 ratifies new collective agreement

The membership of the Greater Toronto Airport Authority (GTAA) has ratified their collective agreement by 89.5 per cent.

The 3 year collective agreement will be in force until July 31, 2016 and features improvements such as:

  • Wage increases of 2.75% effective August 1, 2013, 2014, and 2015

  • Increased standby and shift premiums

  • Consolidated Group Insurance /Pension Plan(s)

  • Improved dental and long term disability

  • Paid bereavement

  • Contracting out - Job protection and employer disclosure

  • Expedited grievance and arbitration process

  • Improved protection for employees facing discipline
      

"Solidarity was a key factor in this round of bargaining," commented CAW Local 2002 President Jamie Ross. "When the membership supports their bargaining committee and their union, they make significant progress. Congratulations to all members of the GTAA for continued support."

Congratulations and commendations to bargaining committee members: Ata Ugursoy, Scott Bowers, Lana Delic-Bridger, Tim Haxhiaj, Antonios Kourteridis, Pauline Leloudas, Executive Assistant Ashley Watkins, and National Representative Shane Wark for successfully representing the membership of GTAA in this round of negotiations.

The CAW represents approximately 800 members at the Greater Toronto Airport Authority who are responsible for the day to day operations of the airport terminal at Pearson International Airport.
