Important election notice for GTAA Members

Important election notice for GTAA Members

January 17, 2011 at 4:30 PM

Due to a miscommunication regarding the number of candidates an individual member can vote for as it pertains to the current Standing Bargaining Committee election, a decision has been made to discontinue the current election process and start from the beginning. Please note that this does not pertain to the election for Standing Bargaining Committee Skilled Trades. It should be noted that the Skilled Trades election will continue as originally scheduled as only one Committee member is required for this position. Once the Skilled Trades election is complete, the ballots will be sealed. The Skilled Trades ballots will not be counted until from the Standing Bargaining Committee election has been completed on February 3, 2011.

The Union believes that it is important that all members have the same but more importantly, accurate information. This allows members to make an informed decision on whether you would like to run for office and who you will select.

Nominations forms for the Standing Bargaining Committee Representatives will be reposted on Tuesday, January 18, 2011. The new deadline will be January 25, 2011 at 1500 hours. Anyone that has already submitted a nomination form must resubmit a new nomination form.

Once nominations close, voting will take place on January 31, 2011 and February 3, 2011. Time and locations will be posted. Each member will have the option to vote for up to four (4) candidates.
