Unifor ratifies new collective agreement with GTAA District 333

Unifor Local 2002 is pleased to announce that the membership of the Greater Toronto Airport Authority (GTAA) has ratified a new collective agreement by eighty-eight per cent.

The three-year contract, which was reached on July 27, 2016, will be in force until July 31, 2019 and features improvements such as:

  • Wage increases of 2.5% effective August 1, 2016, 2017, and 2018

  • Improved Group Insurance / Pension Plan(s)

  • Payout of Severance Pay

  • Improved contracting out language

  • Enhances Skilled Trades language

  • Improvement to staffing / job postings

  • Defined process when appointing overtime

  • Upgraded Discrimination bullying and harassment language etc.

"Our members at GTAA are dedicated and hard-working individuals that support the day-to-day operations of Toronto Pearson Airport," said Cheryl Robinson, President of Unifor 2002. "This agreement reflects our members' hard work and continues to build on the solid gains at the bargaining table. I commend our entire bargaining committee for successfully representing the membership in this round of negotiations and obtaining a fair and equitable agreement."

Unifor Local 2002 represents more than 1,000 members at the GTAA.
