Hilton: CAW demands Employer to dig deep into their pocket

Hilton: CAW demands Employer to dig deep into their pocket

November 25, 2010 at 11:00 AM

On November 17, the Hilton Bargaining Committee – along with Ashley Watkins, CAW’s Executive Assistant and Cheryl Robinson, CAW’s Atlantic Region Vice President – held a proposal meeting for Hilton Members so that they could hear directly what important issues should be tabled for upcoming negotiations. Issues were brought forward by surveys and through open dialogue.

Over the course of two days following the membership meeting, the data collected from the proposal meeting (surveys and open dialogue) was painstakingly dissected against the language of the Collective Agreement. The Bargaining Committee is unwavering that the valuable data obtained from this membership meeting will play a key role in upcoming negotiations and directly impact what is tabled.

On December 8, the Bargaining Committee is scheduled to meet with Chad Johnston – newly appointed CAW National Representative for the Saint John Hilton Hotel – to resume in-house discussions prior to formal discussions with the Employer.

The Union and the Employer are scheduled to begin bargaining a new Collective Agreement on December 9, 2010.

In Solidarity,

Your Bargaining Committee,
