The term for the Jazz CSA/ACS & Jazz Maintenance Benefits Representative positions are ending. Although the experience and training garnered over the years can make the Benefits Representative incumbent invaluable, the Unifor Local 2002 bylaws require us to post appointed positions every three years. The reason is that by its virtue, posting the positions gives an automatic review; it gives transparency and allows the Local to do its due diligence by asking if anyone in our membership is more qualified to be a Jazz Benefits Representative.
Duties and responsibilities will be as follows:

Be a resource to the membership when dealing with medical claims and benefits

Participate in the joint and cooperative development of the Disability Management agreements

Help to establish the trust of the sick or disabled workers which is essential to secure their participation in Disability Management

Help to represent the interests of disabled workers

Maintain regular contact and follow up with sick or disabled workers
-
Assist in coordinating the rehabilitation and help identify jobs suitable to the worker’s condition and capabilities

Maintain confidentiality
The term of office will be until March 31, 2020. Time-off will be as required and subject to operational requirements, but will not be unreasonably denied by the Company. Unifor Jazz members in good standing interested in applying for the Benefits Representative position should send a resume outlining their particular experience and cover letter with reasons for applying for the position no later than Monday June 19, 2017 at 12:00 EST.
