Your Jazz Technical Services bargaining committee
met with the employer on Monday March 9th to discuss the in-depth details of the
amended and extended CPA (capacity purchase agreement) with Air Canada and how
the modified agreement will impact our membership.
Some highlights of the new CPA include:

Extension of the term by five years to December
31, 2025
-
Modernization of aircraft
-
Reduction in operating and labour
costs
Yesterday the Company shared with the bargaining
committee a number of ways in which they are contemplating restructuring their
operations in response to the newly amended CPA. Based on yesterday’s meeting,
the parties have agreed to continue to meet to understand the impact of the
decisions that Jazz may be undertaking and how this will impact bargaining unit
members.
As you are all aware our contract expires on October of this
year and the agreement will remain in force and effect until then and possibly
beyond that date depending on the negotiations schedule.
We will immediately begin the process of developing a
bargaining agenda. Starting later this month, your bargaining committee will be
holding important membership meetings to provide a summary of the position that
Jazz has taken and to seek your input relative to developing our bargaining
agenda.
We encourage all members to attend the meetings as scheduled
below;

April 1, Calgary
