Jazz Technical Services: Certification Update

Jazz Technical Services: Certification Update

December 2, 2016 at 10:00 AM

Over the past several months the process of vetting Collective Bargaining language for both the Line and Heavy Maintenance agreements has been challenging. The arbitration process regarding vacation restrictions for new hires in Heavy Maintenance has concluded and legal counsel for both parties have concluded their reviews of the scope language.

The process at the Canadian Industrial Labor Relations Board (CIRB) to approve the splitting of the Certification (i.e. to have the two separate Collective Bargaining Agreements) still has to occur. An application to the CIRB will be made in the coming weeks, but a decision is not expected until early next year.

Although approval from the Board is not expected until next year, we anticipate a draft copy of both Line and Heavy Maintenance Collective Agreements will be available by the end of next week.

If you have any questions regarding this process, please contact your regional bargaining committee representative.
