Jazz Technical Services: Important information pertaining to Electronic Voting

August 7, 2014 at 3:00 PM

Greetings,

Election notices have been mailed to all Unifor Jazz Technical Services members concerning electronic voting for the upcoming District Chairperson elections. This letter contains a personalized user name and password that you will be able to use in any of the upcoming elections for District Chairperson, Bargaining Committee, Vice Chairperson and Health & Safety. Please keep the information in a safe place for future reference.

We want to encourage everyone to use the online voting process. Electronic voting is fast, secure and convenient. You will be able to access it from anywhere you can access an internet connection within the posted 72-hour period.

Electronic Voting times will be as follows:

  • Jazz Tech District Chairperson – August 18 starting at 00:01 to August 20 ending at 23:59

  • Jazz Tech Bargaining Committee – September 15 at 00:01 to September 17 ending at 23:59

  • Jazz Tech Vice Chairperson – September 29 at 00:01 to October 1 ending at 23:59

  • Jazz Tech Health & Safety – To be announced (By online bulletin and workplace notice)

To vote, simply visit www.unifor2002.org and click on the voting link during the listed election periods and then enter the "Elector ID" and "Password" that was provided to you.

As electronic voting for upcoming elections is a new process for us, we will also provide workplace balloting as a secondary alternative. Workplace voting times will be posted in each work location and are to be announced, but again, we urge you to make electronic voting a success by participating online.

Vancouver and Halifax have acclaimed District Chairpersons and will not require elections. All other locations will have the opportunity to vote online for this election.

The Candidates for District Chairperson are as follows:

D711 – Vancouver
Tom Troughton – Acclaimed

D712 – Calgary / Edmonton / Winnipeg
Stacey Laliberte
Jim Sofonoff

D714 – Montreal / Ottawa / Quebec City
Raymond Comeau
Jocelyn Gregoire
Louis Bonneau

D715 – Halifax
Brad Barnes – Acclaimed

D716 – Toronto
Barrington Reid
Blair Strong
Lili Cibantos

*** One important change to note is that for the Outbases, (Edmonton, Winnipeg, Ottawa and Quebec City), we will only be conducting electronic voting. No workplace balloting will be available.

If you have not received your user name and password by mail by August 14, 2014 please contact Don Ross, Unifor Local 2002 Vice President (E: [email protected] or T: (778) 386-6104).

In Solidarity,

Cheryl Robinson
