Jazz Technical Services: Update from the Bargaining Committee

Jazz Technical Services: Update from the Bargaining Committee

January 19, 2016 at 4:00 PM

Your bargaining committee met with the company along with mediator Tom Hodges in Vancouver last week.

As was previously communicated, the bargaining committee is confident that amicable solutions to the challenging issues have been reached and that only the economic issues remained.

We provided our position on the outstanding issues required to obtain an agreement that would be ratified by the membership. However we were unable to reach an agreement on the outstanding economic issues during the meetings with the employer. The company was going to take time to consider its options, however meeting dates are now scheduled January 27th and 28th in Toronto.

The Committee remains firm that there will be no deal until there is a complete deal. However, the Union still believes an agreement can be reached.

The current contract expired on September 30, 2015. During the bargaining process the existing contract will remain in force until the parties negotiate a new collective agreement.

We will continue to communicate any new information.

Should you have any questions, please contact your regional bargaining committee representative.
