Jazz Technical Services: Update from the Bargaining Committee

Jazz Technical Services: Update from the Bargaining Committee

December 14, 2015 at 11:30 AM

Since the last round of formal bargaining talks in early November, the Bargaining Committee was optimistic that further meetings would take place within a reasonable time-frame. Attempts by the committee to coordinate and schedule further meetings with the Company and the Federal Mediator were unsuccessful.

However, recent attempts to resume talks have now been successful. Additional dates with the Union and Company – including the mediator Tom Hodges – have now been confirmed and meetings will occur January 12-15, 2016.

The Bargaining Committee is confident that amicable solutions to the challenging issues have been reached and that only the economic issues remain. However the Committee remains firm in its position that there will be no deal until there is a comprehensive deal.

The current contract expired on September 30, 2015. However, during the bargaining process the existing contract will remain in force until the parties negotiate a new collective agreement.
