The CAW has been advised that the GTAA has extended the current Jarvis Webb contract to operate and maintain the baggage handling system at Pearson International Airport by an additional two years.  The contract was due to expire on April 30, 2012.

By utilizing a provision in the contract that gives the GTAA the right to extend the Webb contract, the airport authority has provided significant stability to the employees at Webb.

"We are ecstatic that these workers will continue to be compensated fairly for the job that they do,” said Local 2002 President, Jamie Ross. "By maintaining good jobs, the GTAA is creating a healthier working environment for the entire airport community.”

The CAW and Webb will be meeting in the next few days to finalize details ensuring that the new April 30, 2014 contract date is reflected in the previous agreement ratified on October 18, 2011.
