Welcome to Getting to Know Your Local, a Unifor Local 2002 newsletter dedicated to bringing you information about our Local and our members. For the month of November, we are featuring the following three units:

  • Perimeter Aviation LP– Pilots
  • Morningstar Air Express Inc.– Pilots
  • Porter Airlines – Fixed Based Operations  (FBO)

Perimeter Aviation LP Pilots (Winnipeg and Thompson): District #299

The pilot group at Perimeter Aviation provides passenger, charter, and medevac service. They operate scheduled passenger flights to over 20 communities in Manitoba and North Western Ontario. Perimeter has over 30 aircraft in their fleet capable of carrying between 6 and 50 passengers.

Pilots operate the following aircraft: Dash 8  and the Fairchild Metroliner. Perimeter was established in 1960 by William J. Wehrle and is headquartered in Winnipeg, Manitoba. In 2010, Perimeter’s parent company - Exchange Income Corporation purchased Bearskin Airlines. In 2017, a decision was made by Exchange Income Corporation to merge both airlines (Perimeter & Bearskin Airlines). The merger is expected to be completed by end of 2018, pending approval for a single operating certificate,

This merger once finalized, will allow for greater expansion and service into select markets in northwestern Ontario that are generally under-served. This includes Thunder Bay and the First Nations communities north of Sioux Lookout. We represent more than 115 pilots at Perimeter Aviation.
