Getting to Know Your Local – June Edition 2018
Welcome to Getting to Know Your Local, a Unifor Local 2002 newsletter dedicated to bringing you information about our Local and our members.
For the month of June, we are featuring to the following three units:
Jazz Aviation LP - Crew Schedulers, Air Georgian, and Worldwide Flight Services.
Jazz Aviation L.P.: Crew Schedulers (Halifax) District: 622
Our members assign flying schedules to both pilot and flight attendants’ crews for Jazz Aviation flights. They also monitor crew movements on a daily basis and reroute crews as needed based on operational requirements. Jazz is a Canadian regional airline based at Halifax Stanfield International Airport and is a wholly owed subsidiary of Chorus Aviation.
On June 6, 2018, our members ratified a five-year collective agreement. Unifor Local 2002 has been proudly representing these members needs for 18 years.
Air Georgian (Toronto & Calgary) District 326
Our members at Air Georgian perform crew scheduling, flight dispatching, supply chain, aircraft maintenance and engineering functions. Air Georgian operates routes throughout parts of Canada and in the United States on behalf of Air Canada.
On June 12, 2018, members ratified their first three-year collective agreement. We are proud to represent approximately 90 members at Air Georgian. They joined the Unifor family on March 2, 2017.
Worldwide Flight Services (Toronto & Montreal) Districts: 310 & 410
Our members perform cargo and warehouse work for various airlines. Worldwide Flight Services is one the world’s leading providers of ground handling services, serving over 300 airlines at airports on five continents.
Local 2002 represents approximately 53 members and we have been representing these members for over 20 years.
