Following the ratification meeting held on April 11, the membership of Morningstar have ratified a new collective agreement by 82 per cent.
The terms of the new five year agreement are in effect from March 31, 2015 until March 31, 2020.
Some of the highlights include:
- Pension, benefit and vacation increases
- Overtime improvements
- Improved days off
- Increase to sick days and bereavement leave
- Increase in uniform cleaning allowance and allotment
- Enhanced language on harassment, discrimination and bullying
"Congratulations to the bargaining committee and members of Morningstar for the determination and solidarity that they have shown throughout this round of negotiations," said Unifor Local 2002 president Cheryl Robinson. "This comprehensive collective agreement is truly reflective of the needs and issues important to this group.”
Unifor represents approximately 60 Morningstar pilots based in Vancouver, Winnipeg, Toronto and Montreal who move cargo across Canada on a contract basis for provider of domestic lift for Federal Express Canada.
