April 5, 2018 at 1:00 PM
Local 2002 is pleased to announce that Amy Broderick, has been appointed as the Women’s Advocate for Ornge. Amy is a member of Ornge from District 344 and is based in Sioux Lookout, Ontario.

This role provides referrals on issues such as sexual assault, domestic violence, anger management, suicide prevention, depression, pregnancy, separation, divorce, and stress. The role of the women’s advocate is to listen, support, to provide information, to refer women to the appropriate resources and to follow up in a confidential manner.

Women’s Advocates are an invaluable resource to women who are dealing with extremely difficult situations. Supporting women and those that empower women is essential to achieving gender equality.  Our Local looks forward to working with sister Amy towards that objective.

Please note: a confidential phone number and voicemail is in the process of being set up in order to contact the women’s advocate. We hope to have this confidential phone line up and running sometime next week. We will ensure to communicate this with the Ornge members.

In the interim, should you have any questions or concerns you can email Amy Broderick at [email protected].

In Solidarity,
Euila Leonard
