On April 11th, your Bargaining Committee returned to the table along with the company and the federal mediator.
At our last meeting with the employer on March 14th, we were left with the impression that we were making positive progress in the negotiations process. As such, it came as a surprise to us today to see the employer stick to its positions and demand rollbacks in the current conditions.
Your Bargaining Committee made it clear to the company that there are certain key issues that must be settled before an agreement can be reached. We will continue to negotiate to obtain a fair agreement.
Bargaining will resume on April 29th. We’ll keep you informed of any developments. Thank you for your confidence in us.
