Unifor reaches agreement with Porter FBO

Unifor Local 2002 is pleased to announce that on Friday the union reached a first agreement with Porter Fixed Base Operation (FBO). This new unit is a division of Porter Airlines headquartered at Toronto’s Billy Bishop City Airport. These employees are classified at groomers; individuals that clean the interior of aircraft.

This first agreement will give members improvement in the following areas:

  • wage increases

  • additional vacation after 10 years of service

  • boot and uniform allowance

  • compassionate-care leave

  • lockers

  • expedited arbitration process

  • improved hours of work

  • new process to establish seniority, etc.
      

Employees will have an opportunity to hear complete details of the tentative agreement at the upcoming ratification meeting held as follows:

(located by the receptionist area of the Porter Administration building)

  

All Porter FBO employees are strongly encouraged to attend these important meetings. Unifor Bargaining Committee representative will be presenting and discussing details of the tentative agreement at the above mentioned meeting. As per the Local 2002 Bylaws, voting will only take place during the scheduled meeting time.

Your Unifor bargaining committee unanimously recommends that you vote "Yes" to this tentative agreement.
