November 5, 2017 at 5:05 PM

Last week, Unifor Local 2002 and Porter Airlines Inc. met to discuss the Ontario Provincial Government plans to increase the minimum wage to $14 per hour in January 2018.

As of November 1st, 2017, both parties reached an agreement to increase the minimum wage for all Unifor members employed with Porter Airlines Inc. to $14.00 per hour. This monetary increase includes: the Ramp Attendants, Customer Service Representatives, and Facilities Cleaners/ Groomers.  Please note; all other pay categories above the $14 per hour remain status quo.

We will be meeting with the Company in early 2018 to renegotiate a new collective agreement for our Unifor members at Porter Airlines Inc. The two current collective agreements for Ramp Attendants and Customer Service Representatives are set to expire on April 26, 2018.

We will continue to provide updates via the Unifor 2002 website and e-news bulletins. Please ensure you have subscribed to Unifor 2002 e-news at www.unifor2002.org.
