Porter Airlines ramp attendants and customer service representatives have ratified their respective collective agreements by 75 per cent each. This is a historic moment for these members as this is the first agreement for both groups.

The three year collective agreement goes into effect immediately and expires on April 26, 2018. Some of the improvements that members at Porter will now enjoy are:  union recognition, defined hours of work, a new process for all job postings, shift and vacation bids by seniority, established grievance and arbitration processes, health and dental benefits for part-time employees, and an additional vacation week. This first agreement will assist the union and the company as they continue to build a respectful and productive workplace environment.

"I would like to thank our members for their enthusiasm and participation and recognize the bargaining committees for all of their hard work,” said Local 2002 President Cheryl Robinson. "With the experience and guidance of National Representative Joel Fournier and Assistant to the Local President Theresa Amicarelli they have set a strong foundation for Unifor members at Porter Airlines for many years to come.”

Unifor Local 2002 represents approximately 75 ramp operations workers and 125 customer service representatives and ambassadors who work for Porter Airlines Inc. at the Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport.
