December 4, 2014 at 3:05 PM

Bargaining committee representatives for ramp workers at Porter Airlines met with Unifor staff representative Joel Fournier and Local 2002 executive assistant Theresa Amicarelli on December 3, 2014 in order to prepare for bargaining.

Newly elected committee members Eddy Candia, Courtney Chick and Greg Hume discussed workplace issues, tabulated bargaining surveys and reviewed the bargaining process.

Bargaining with the company is scheduled to open on January 20, 2015.

The next steps for the committee will be to prepare non-monetary and monetary proposals.

"After meeting with this committee, I am confident that they will achieve their goal of a fair and equitable first agreement for our members at Porter," commented Theresa Amicarelli.

If any member has any questions or concerns, please contact your workplace bargaining committee representatives.

Unifor represents 73 members from Porter Airlines who perform various ramp functions such as towing, de-icing, marshalling aircraft and loading and unloading baggage at Toronto's Billy Bishop Airport.
