Swissport Vancouver reaches Tentative Agreement

Swissport Vancouver reaches Tentative Agreement

February 20, 2018 at 10:30 AM
After eight months of negotiations with Swissport Vancouver, your Bargaining Committee is pleased to announce that is has reached a tentative agreement through the assistance of Federal Mediator Susan Fisher

The Bargaining Committee has been bargaining with the Company over the past eight months to negotiate a fair Collective Agreement for its members.  Negotiations broke off in December 2017, when the Union reached an impasse with the Company.  We were forced to file for conciliation in order to resolve the differences.  We filed for conciliation on January 30th, 2018 and the Minister of Labour appointed Mediator Susan Fisher to assist with this set of negotiations.

The Bargaining Committee will present the details of the tentative agreement to the membership at the upcoming ratification meetings that are currently being organized. Further communication will be provided at a later date to the membership on the location and times of the ratification meetings.

We urge all members to attend a ratification meeting in order to make an informed decision and to vote on the agreement. Your Bargaining Committee is unanimously endorsing this tentative agreement and recommends members to vote “yes”.

You, the members will ultimately decide if this agreement is acceptable to you.  Voting for the agreement will only take place at one of the scheduled meetings as per the Unifor Constitution.

The Bargaining Committee would like to thank the membership for their continued support. Please ensure that you have subscribed to Unifor 2002’s e-news at
