As has been previously bulletined the Vancouver Airport Authority has not renewed the WFS Baggage Sortation contract and employees at WFS at YVR will be laid off on January 31, 2008.

The following information may be helpful to WFS employees as they begin to prepare for a change in their employment as the layoff date approaches.

 

Employment Insurance and Job Retraining

For information on Employment Insurance (EI) and Job Retraining WFS employees should contact Human Resources Development Canada (HRDC) at the following toll free number.  HRDC may also have information about retraining for employees with an active EI claim.
