The CAW has been informed by
management at Worldwide Flight Services that the Vancouver Airport Authority did
not renew Worldwide’s contract for the Baggage Sortation System (BSS) at
Vancouver Airport.
CAW members should be aware
that their employment at Worldwide is protected until January 31, 2008. CAW
representatives have met with Worldwide management and arranged for employee
assistance sessions with Aroon Shah and Associates. Those meetings will be held
on November 6, 2007 at 1230 and 1530 in Room 4106. It is recommended that
everyone attend the sessions so the impact of the transition on employees and
their families can be better understood.
The CAW will continue to
meet with management and work cooperatively with them to ensure our members best
interests are considered as we move toward the January 31, 2008 transition.
