ASP Bargaining Committee makes progress

ASP Bargaining Committee makes progress

September 21, 2011 at 5:53 PM

On September 12, 13 and 15, 2011, the bargaining committee for ASP, District 356 returned to the negotiation table. Representing the company was CEO Dean Lovric and President Tim Thomas. Ensuring that the procedures were conducted in a respectful manner was federally appointed conciliator, Sheri King.

During the first two days of bargaining, the committee was successful in achieving many non-monetary proposals. The bargaining committee recognizes that schedules and hours of work are a priority for the membership and focused on this during the third day of bargaining. They are determined to achieve a resolution that meets members’ needs while respecting seniority.

It was clear from the well-attended membership meeting held in Toronto on August 23 that the goals of the membership and the bargaining committee are the same:  to attain a collective agreement that is reasonable and relevant. There can be no doubt that the membership of ASP deserves a Fair Deal!

The next bargaining meeting is scheduled for September 30, 2011.

The committee would like to thank the members for their continued confidence and support during this process.

Our solidarity equals our success!
