The CAW approached the Company with notice to bargain a new collective agreement per the attached letter dated January 31, 2011 (see attached "11-01-31_ASP-NoticeToBargain.pdf")
The employer cancelled a number of agreed to bargaining dates at the eleventh hour, and no further agreed-to dates where scheduled. On May 17th the CAW filed to the Federal Labour Minister in order they intervene due to an impasse in the bargaining process and appoint a conciliator to the ASP bargaining unit for the purpose to resume bargaining (see attached "11-05-17_ASP-scan.pdf").
On June 1st. the CAW received confirmation from FMCS to advise they have appointed Mr. Paul Macdonell as Conciliator/Mediator to the ASP bargaining process (see attached "11-06-01_ASP-scan").
The CAW is currently waiting to hear back from the Conciliator so that we can agree to dates for us to get back to the bargaining table.
Once the parties have agreed to firm dates we will advise the membership.
