ASP has lost the contract to provide airport security services at Billy Bishop Airport. The new contract holder, G4S has been in contact with ASP employees and will be offering information sessions regarding the transition on July 16 and 17, 2012.

The union has contacted G4S to determine their plans and to ensure that the rights of all ASP employees are maintained. The CAW legal department is currently looking at all options to make certain that this transition does not have any negative impact on employees' working conditions.

This is a time of uncertainty for ASP employees at Billy Bishop; there will be many rumours circulating in the workplace. Some parties may try to take advantage of this situation to achieve their own questionable goals. The CAW has pledged it's support to the membership to do everything possible in order to ensure current working conditions are not affected.
