ASP Security Members: Bargaining Update for April 28, 2023

ASP Security Members: Bargaining Update for April 28, 2023

April 28, 2023 at 9:30 AM

Bargaining is underway between  Unifor Local 2002 and ASP Security. The parties met in person on April 25 to 26 and discussions were productive. Both parties are continuing to work through the issues and proposals. Good progress has been made with non-monetary items, including language and regulatory changes.

Once the Union is satisfied with the progress of the non-monetary items, it is only at that point that your committee will agree to move on to monetary proposals. Additional bargaining dates are scheduled for June.   We look forward to continuing to meet with the Employer and we remain hopeful that a fair and equitable agreement will be reached.

STAY IN THE KNOW
As you are aware, the current collective agreement expired on December 31st, 2022, even though we have gone past the expiration of the collective agreement, the contract remains in effect until we ratify a new agreement. All rights and protections remain in full effect.

To protect the integrity of the negotiation process, the Committee cannot discuss specific details with the membership while in talks with the Employer.   Bargaining updates will be available on the Unifor 2002 website and via e-news.  If you have not already done so, please subscribe to Unifor Local 2002 e-news at unifor2002.org.

The Bargaining Committee we would like to thank the membership for their continued show of support and solidarity as our success depends on it.

In Solidarity,
