ASP Security Members: Bargaining Update for March 24th, 2023

ASP Security Members: Bargaining Update for March 24th, 2023

March 24, 2023 at 4:00 PM

The ASP Bargaining Committee is pleased to report that we commenced bargaining with the Company on March 22 to 23. Both parties have exchanged non-monetary proposals. During the two-day meetings talks have been productive and both parties have made progress to reach common ground on certain issues.

Once the Union is satisfied that our non-monetary proposals have been addressed, we can then at that point look to begin negotiating monetary items, we will not commit to the membership to do this by a certain date, as the negotiations process is fluid and dependant upon many factors.

NEXT STEPS
Bargaining dates have been confirmed for April 25 to 26, 2023.  Please remember that while it is your Bargaining Committee’s objective to keep the membership informed, specific details on proposals cannot be discussed outside negotiations. The Committee is committed to negotiating a fair and equitable collective agreement that will improve the working conditions for its members.

As you are aware, the current collective agreement expired on December 31st, 2022, even though we have gone past the expiration of the collective agreement, the contract remains in effect until we ratify a new agreement. All rights and protections remain in full effect.
