Unifor Local 2002 is seeking to fill one (1) vacancy for the Air Canada Grievance Coordinator position. This position is an appointed position, the term of office will begin on August 1st, 2021, and is subject to review by the Local 2002 Executive Board.  The successful candidate will report to the President of Local 2002.

Duties and responsibilities of the Air Canada Grievance Coordinator:
  • Provide assistance/support to the Air Canada Bargaining Committee
  • Track and Coordinate grievances using the Unifor Grievance database
  • Ensure files are up to date on a weekly basis
  • Assist with research in the preparation of grievances
  • Prepare arbitration briefs
  • Prepare a training manual on the Air Canada collective agreement
  • Communicate using the Local 2002 website every quarter in conjunction with the Executive Board meeting minutes summary report
  • Provide Executive Board Report quarterly upon request
  • Any other responsibilities as assigned by the Local 2002 President
 Qualifications required:
  • Must be an Air Canada member in good standing from Local 2002
  • Knowledge of the Air Canada collective agreement
  • Knowledge, understanding, and experience in the grievance and arbitration process
  • Demonstrate organizational skills
  • Competent in the use of the grievance database program
  • Competent in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Bilingual in French and English is an asset
  • Bargaining Experience is an asset
  • Facilitation Skills an asset
