The Unifor Jazz and Air Canada Bargaining Committees have finalized the master transition agreement on the Small Bases with Air Canada and Jazz on Friday, March 31, 2023.
Presently, Québec City is the only base that meets the criteria of the arbitration award to switch its operation to an Air Canada Base as of June 1st 2023.
All Unifor members employed by Air Canada that were displaced when the previous decision was made to change Quebec City to a Jazz base will be given the option to return to Quebec City in the coming weeks. All Unifor members currently working for Jazz at Quebec City will be given the opportunity to continue to work in Quebec City as Air Canada employees.
Meetings will be held in the near future with Unifor Representatives in order to answer questions and to advise members of their options during this transition. We realize that this change will generate a lot of questions and we will work to make it as smooth as possible.
