Win as One-Unifor!
Your Unifor Bargaining Committee met with the company on October 8, 2019, to officially open negotiations and exchange non-monetary proposals. The first day of bargaining consisted of detailed explanations of our proposals. We also informed the Company of the expectations that our members had provided us at our proposal meetings. The Company was receptive but did seek clarification on some of the items in our proposal package.
On the second and third day of the meetings, we came to an agreement of some of the non-monetary proposals that had been tabled. As a result of the progress made, we were able to forge ahead with additional non-monetary items and address some of the significant issues.
FUTURE BARGAINING DATES
We will be meeting with the Company on October 17, 2019 to continue the work from our previous set of bargaining meetings.
Beginning on October 21, 2019, we are scheduled to meet with the Company and we plan to work with them until November 1, 2019. We anticipate expanding upon our non-monetary items and expect to be dealing with the monetary proposals.
Throughout the week of October 21-25, 2019 several of Unifor 2002’s District Chairpersons will be present to assist in discussions on specific proposal items brought forward by the members. If necessary, we will bring the District Chairpersons in to participate in future discussions.
This bulletin also launches our Unifor-Air Canada Bargaining slogan. We had a tremendous number of responses. A sincere thank-you to all those who participated. We have a treasure trove of slogans that we will feature in future bulletins.
