In October, 2019, Arbitrator Tom Hodges issued his final award with regards to the "small base" grievances filed by Unifor Air Canada and Unifor Jazz Aviation.
On December 9 & 10, 2019, both of the above mentioned Unifor Bargaining Committees met with their respective companies' in order to finalize a MOU and clarify certain components of Mr. Hodges award. Air Canada and Jazz Aviation both requested extensions to further review the proposed MOU.
Mr. Hodges will be contacting the respective parties in the near future to try to move this process forward in hopes of finalizing the MOU. Although we are disappointed at this delay, we appreciate our members patience and understanding and do recognize the stress this situation may be causing.
The bargaining committees are working diligently to resolve this issue, and will issue a follow-up communication once Air Canada and Jazz Aviation complete their review of the proposed MOU.
