Win as One-Unifor!

On October 21st, 2019, we met with the Company to obtain their responses to our proposals which we presented to them during the week of October 8, 2019. The Company further expanded on their proposals since presenting them on October 17, 2019.

The Bargaining Committee invited some of the District Chairpersons from the Call Centres, Customer Relations, and Airports, throughout the week to participate in the proposal discussions. The workplace leadership brought their valuable experience to the discussions and we thank them for their input.

During the first two days, the Company shared its vision for the Call Centre’s, Customer Relations, and CJM. We reinforced our position and stated to the Company that the deterioration of working conditions, enhanced monitoring, and the attack on our workplace scope will not be tolerated.

It is high time for the Company to recognize the exceptional work and productivity of our membership.

On Wednesday and Thursday (October 23 and 24, 2019), we engaged in further discussions about our proposals which included input from the Airport District Chairpersons. The Company brought in four of their Resource Planning representatives to discuss our proposals on scheduling, and the need to improve training and communication.

On Friday, October 25, 2019, both parties ended the week by engaging in a very active conversation on mental health issues. Mental health issues were a concern that was raised consistently by the members at the recent proposal meetings.

The Union will be reconvening with the Company on Monday, October 28, 2019, and we are expecting to receive responses to our proposals. Bargaining will continue throughout the week of October 28, 2019.

As we previously communicated, we had a treasure trove of slogans submitted. We would like to recognize Julie Camerino for her entry – Unity is our Strength!

Please stay informed, and direct any questions or concerns to your District Chairperson. Thank you for your support as we work to bargain a fair and equitable agreement for you.

Bargaining updates will be provided throughout negotiations and will be issued via e-news and on the Unifor 2002 website.  Please ensure that you have subscribed to unifor2002.org.
