Unifor 2002: Solidarity with our Air Canada and Aeroplan Members

March 15, 2019 at 5:35 PM
As you are aware, on Wednesday, March 13, 2019, Air Canada announced it had suspended their Boeing 737 MAX operations until further notice. Over the past few days, our Unifor members working at: Airports, Call Centres, Customer Journey Management, Customer Relations, In-flight Crew Scheduling, Flight Operations Crew Scheduling, and Aeroplan Call Centres have been faced with the monumental task of rebooking and accommodating the affected Air Canada passengers and crew members.

These are very trying and stressful times for our members as flights are canceled across the country during one of the busiest travel weeks of the year.  Our members have proudly risen to the challenge of assisting passengers and crew members in reaching their destinations. Unifor recognizes the hard work and dedication that our members have demonstrated and will continue to do so in the weeks ahead.

As unionized members, you all have a voice in the workplace and during this stressful time, we ask that you continue to work safely.  Thank you to all of our members for their dedication and professionalism.

It is times like these, that the Company needs to acknowledge the value, importance, and commitment that our members provide to the Air Canada brand “to win as one – Air Canada”.
