Canadian North: Bargaining Update #2

Canadian North: Bargaining Update #2

March 14, 2016 at 2:00 PM

Your Bargaining Committee met with Canadian North management in Edmonton, Alberta, March 8–10 to continue negotiations.

The discussions are progressing slowly. However, the Bargaining Committee was able to table and work through a number of our proposals. There are still Article proposals on the table that must be resolved before we move on to the joint economic proposals.

We will continue to work hard to reach a settlement that will meet the needs and expectations of the membership.

Negotiations will resume in Edmonton and are set for April 12–15, 2016.

The Bargaining Committee remains optimistic as they prepare for these meetings and we would like to thank the membership for their continued show of support and solidarity; our success depends on it.

In order to protect the integrity of the negotiations process, the committee cannot discuss specific details with the membership while in talks with management. However, we will continue to keep you informed with any further developments. Please ensure that you have subscribed to Unifor 2002’s e-news service at www.unifor2002.org.

In solidarity,

Unifor 2002 Bargaining Committee
