Canadian North & First Air Customer Service Members: Merger Update for August 30, 2019

August 30, 2019 at 11:40 AM
As you are aware, the Company has announced that effective November 1st, 2019, there will be a new joint flight schedule implemented, which will include flights operated by both Canadian North and First Air.

As the process for the merger continues to progress, we would like to assure all of our members that we are working collaboratively with the Company to incorporate both workforces.  The objective is to establish a seamless workforce, regardless of whether a member is assigned to work a Canadian North or First Air aircraft.

All members will continue to be protected under their current collective agreements until a combined collective agreement has been negotiated. In September, we will be in the process of merging the system-wide seniority lists, and the seniority lists in each individual work location. Once the seniority lists have been merged, they will be posted in your workplaces for you to review. We ask that you report any inaccuracies to your District Chairperson.

The Company and Union will be meeting in September to plan and discuss how the merging of the workforces will be introduced to all of you.

Unifor is committed to keeping you informed of all events and discussions as they happen. Please ensure you have subscribed to e-news at mailto:www.unifor2002.org.
