Canadian North Members: Virtual Bargaining Opens!

Canadian North Members: Virtual Bargaining Opens!

July 29, 2020 at 9:10 AM
Earlier today – July 28, 2020, the Canadian North bargaining committee met with the company via video conferencing to open negotiations and to exchange the non-monetary bargaining proposals. Both the company and the bargaining committee reviewed and discussed what had been proposed.

To ensure compliance with the COVID-19 guidelines related to social distancing, both parties will use video conferencing technology to conduct bargaining meetings until it is safe to meet in person.

As this is still considered the early stages of bargaining, there is very little to report. Our commitment to you is to be as transparent as possible throughout the bargaining process.  However, it is important to note, that to protect the integrity of these negotiations, the committee cannot discuss specific details with the membership while in talks with the company.

Thank you, to the members of Canadian North for their participation in completing the bargaining survey. We would like to acknowledge the elected bargaining committee members who took the time to review in-depth, both former agreements (Canadian North/First Air) which we will use and build upon to form a new fair and equitable collective agreement.

Future Bargaining Dates
We will reconvene negotiations via video conference on Wednesday, August 5, 2020.  Further dates have also been scheduled for August 10 to 14, 2020 in Ottawa.
