Canadian North – Bargaining Update

Canadian North – Bargaining Update

January 11, 2016 at 3:00 PM

Your bargaining committee met with the management team of Canadian North from January 5-8 to open bargaining talks.

During these sessions, the parties presented and explained their own formal bargaining proposals. The Union’s proposals included issues brought to the committee as a result of the bargaining surveys submitted this past fall.

The bargaining committee is working hard to ensure they reach a fair and equitable agreement on the member’s behalf. The first meetings have been respectful and productive, however the committee believes there is a long way to go to reach a fair agreement for the membership.

The next confirmed dates for negotiations are set for February 2nd – 5th, 2016.

The bargaining committee remains optimistic as they prepare for these meetings and we would like to thank the membership for their continuing show of support and solidarity; their success will depend on it.

As the bargaining process unfolds, the bargaining committee will keep members updated on developments. However, it is important to note, that in order to protect the integrity of the negotiations process, the committee cannot discuss specific details with the membership while in talks with management.
